Full Job Description The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years experience working with adults who need help with day-to-day activities and has demonstrated readiness to accept increased responsibilities. The candidate should be compassionate, courteous, assertive, and a team-player. The candidate must have good attention to detail, be able to follow detailed instructions, and excellent communication skills. Weekly activities are planned throughout the month and week, in and out of the home.
The position duties include (but may not be limited to):
Consensus gathering for policies and procedures
24/7 availability for difficult situations/questions
Daily house cleaning
Medication assistance
Checking on health/safety of residents
Following the residents plans of care and goals
Toileting
Bathing
Meal preparation/cooking
Transport clients to appointments and activities
Daily chore and resident charting
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
5 years of experience (Required)
2-year degree in health-related field or equivalent (Preferred)
Current adult CPR/First Aid certification
Current TB test card
Background check with fingerprints
Clean background
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understand assisted living health care and anticipate issues
Work ethically in pursuit of the mission to enable those who need help with daily tasks.
Ability to communicate well and understand those with difficulty communicating.
Plan, prioritize, and use time smartly to complete daily tasks and care.
Knowledge of disabilities, injuries, and aging.
Establish and maintain a rapport and strong working relationship with co-workers and client representatives.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
Medium physical workload.
Employee must be able to exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
